    I never thought I’d be sharing about eyelashes in my testimony, but God works in pretty interesting ways!
    For years, I struggled with thin, tiny lashes aka “bald lids” that seemed to mock all my efforts at feeling presentable. Hours spent with falsies, extensions, and endless mascara applications left me feeling exhausted and honestly, a bit ashamed at times of my appearance.

    Ok so back when I was 17 … seems like a lifetime ago lol everyone was trimming their eyelashes because apparently Marylin Monroe did and they grew back like weeds.

    Of course the broken young woman at the time in me wanted to have these long thick lashes and be beautiful just like Marylin…

    I was soooooo wrong!

    Maybe it was working for everyone else but mine NEVER grew back.

    So my bottom lids have always since then been way longer.

    I was devastated! Like hardcore!

    Then I fell into the falsies, the daily eyelash extensions and recently to the 10 day DIY version these past 2 years and LOVED it!

    But just recently as got off of this 40 day fast the Lord started sharing with me how eyelash extensions are something that pharaoh has implanted in woman as his idea of what a beautiful woman is.

    I remember staring in the mirror, tears streaming down my face, desperately trying to “fix” what I saw reflected back at me. Maybe you know that feeling – the one where you can’t even imagine letting anyone, even those closest to you, see your bare face. Where your worth feels tied to how “done up” you appear.

    When Makeup Becomes a Mask

    Fresh into my marriage, I wouldn’t let my own husband see me without makeup. I was trapped in the lie that I was only beautiful when I was “dolled up.” But God, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, had different plans for my heart.
